This weekend our team is holding the annual Edgar Soto stage race.  What started as a dream by TriStar cycling founder and Juris Inc. CEO Stephen Collins is quickly in year 2 becoming one of the best stage races in the country.  Named after the late Edgar Soto who was killed while riding his bike the purpose of this race is provide a world class experience for cyclists and to promote the “share the road” campaign for cyclists.   Nearly 500 cyclists for all over the United States will meet in Nashville this weekend and do battle on the middle Tennessee rolling terrain.

Tristar cycling and Gran Fondo cycles are the title sponsors of the event.  Last year the event drew 300+ racers and had feature rider Caesar Grajales of the Navigators Pro Cycling team.  This year the event will see nearly 550 riders compete and the pro field have guys like Karl Menzies and Frank Pipp of Health Net/Maxxis, Jeff Hopkins, Trent Wilson, and Caesar Grajales of Jittery Joe’s, and of course the morepartnerincome.com cycling team.  The Master’s field will have Vision Quest Coaching led by ex US Postal rider Robbie Ventura, Curtis Tolson of Outback Steakhouse, and of course the regional master’s powers Team One/Memorial Health, Gran Fondo, Scenic City Velo, Delta Faucet and others.

The pro race consists of a 6.9 mile time trial, a 66 mile circuit race, a 75 minute crit, and a 109 mile road race.  If you are anywhere close to Nashville you have to come out and watch Sunday’s crit action. Turner Sports will be filming for TV and it’s sure to be fast and furious on the streets of downtown Nashville.  Put this one on your calendar. This race should move to the NRC calendar next year and be one of the premier stage races in the United States for years to come!

Got to get my legs rested and be able to commit to the success of the big green morepartnerincome.com train this weekend. Life’s sure to be tough going against some of the best pro’s the US has to offer.

Attached is an article posted in the Nashville City Paper describing the event. Enjoy
